Mata Jali is composed of ‘nyali’ beads and handmade silver beads with a fine silver chain and handmade ceramic ‘gem’ framed in Jawan embellished silver and a handmade silver clasp. The Nyali Beads are collected by SANGGAR SARANTANGAN a center for children and young adults in West Kalimantan that focuses on the development of local sustainable Dayak arts and crafts. The beads are sourced from the ‘Nyali’ grass which grows wild and abundant in the surrounding areas of the center.
